deadendthrills 0 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place or not going through the proper channels. I'm in process of developing a skin which, not least for my own use, needs the transcoding functionality of Emby but with the advantages of direct paths. Being able to retrieve the path name is by far the most efficient and flexible way of handling artwork in a Kodi UI, but right now it seems you have to sacrifice a whole load of other stuff to get it. What would need to happen to solve that? Would changes need to be made to Kodi itself?
im85288 1493 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 I'm confused at your statement that you need the path to get artwork correctly. The artwork is scraped correctly into the local kodi db regardless of the playback mode. So you can get the artwork just as you would using native kodi, i.e. via ListItem.art etc
deadendthrills 0 Posted January 3, 2017 Author Posted January 3, 2017 I need the correct path so Kodi can directly access a subfolder for use as an 'imagepath' when displaying a slideshow of images. This is a custom folder which is neither extrafanart nor extrathumbs. Furthermore, Kodi's 'multiimage' control requires a path, whereas ListItem.Art() infolabels return a single image.
