Home videos & photos thumbnails

Just wanted to check if all videos in the home videos & photos folders should have a thumbnail image of a frame in that video?

 

I have found a lot of my .AVI files taken with phones etc just have the generic coloured block for their thumbnail whereas other .MP4 & .MOV files do have a frame from the video as their thumbnail?

 

Also, is there a way to differentiate videos from pictures via their thumbnails, ie a small movie icon overlay?  It would be nice to quickly see which are the videos mixed in with photos?

Do all those avi's have a mjpeg codec for video?  If so, just like the other topic you will have to wait for a solution.  As of now the server is ignoring that codec as it is used for embedded images also.

Thanks Happy2Play, yes they are all mjpeg.  No problem, i'll wait and see.

 

Do you know if there is an answer to distinguishing videos from pictures?

We now have an icon displayed on videos so that you can differentiate between photos and videos. thanks.
