happpyg 20 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) I have Emby installed on a Windows Server 2008 VM and configured Emby to run as a service. Emby is definitely configured to not run automatically via startup folder. About 50% of the time when I restart the service it fails to start. Trying to start it immediately again always works. It seems to happen more when the server has been left alone for some time. When I restart the server the service never starts when the server comes back up but will always start if I start it manually. Haven't been able to establish any pattern yet, are there any other logs I can provide? I have attached two sets of logs - server-63618952912 failed to start, server-63618952993 started successfully - server-63618953875 failed to start after server restart, server-63618954050 started successfully Service is running as a user that has local admin rights but shouldn't be permissions related anyway as it does start and run fine once started. Edit: nothing is reported in the windows event logs when the service fails to start, it is like it tries to start and just bombs out without writing anything into the log? Thanks! server-63618952912.txt server-63618952993.txt server-63618953875.txt server-63618954050.txt Edited January 2, 2017 by happpyg
Luke 42085 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Hi, can you try removing all plugins and see if the issue persists with the core server? thanks !
Happy2Play 9784 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Seems to be the standard issue. Process doesn't shutdown in a timely manner. 2017-01-02 11:37:55.6753 Info Main: Found a duplicate process. Giving it time to exit.
happpyg 20 Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 Thanks Guys, Since removing all my plugins then reinstalling them one by one and restarting the server each time it has worked fine ever since. It is now working fine after reinstalling all plugins so i'll keep an eye on it for now. Cheers Aaron
