Unable to play DVD with forced subtitles

PAL DVD Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope does not play when forced subtitles are enabled using EVR+. It displays a blank screen for a fraction of a second, then back to the movie info screen. Forced subtitles are displayed when using EVR, but image isn't displayed full screen, which Luke does know about.
