njf 4 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 I don't know where to report this but Emby insists on identifying The Great British Bake Off as The Great British Baking Show. I don't know where it gets it from because it is correct on TVDB and there is no other programme with that wrong name.
Luke 42077 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Hi @@njf, you are kindly mistaken. Emby does not insist on identifying anything as anything. It simply takes the information that it has, puts that into a search request with the internet metadata providers, and uses the results that come back. Is that really insisting? Is this related to live tv or a regular tv library?
njf 4 Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 (edited) Fair enough, although obviously I don't understand how it works. I attach a screenshot from my PC. You will see the information relates to the correct programme - just the name is wrong. The episodes are correctly named in accordance with the standard TV requirements eg the first episode is called The Great British Bake Off s01e01.mp4. Would it be getting the title from anyone other than TVDB? If I search for The Great British Baking Show in TVDB, it still comes up with The Great British Bake Off. By the way, it is correct in Plex, which I am hoping to move away from in favour of Emby. Edited December 31, 2016 by njf
Luke 42077 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 I just tested that by creaking a folder called The Great British Bake Off, and then a Season 1 folder underneath, and it seemed to pull all the right information. Note that i have the server on pretty much default metadata settings.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 TVDB shows them as the same show so @@Luke how does Emby use show Alias?
