Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 My hard drives spin down but I don't have to wait a minute. Maybe 3 or 4 seconds before it starts to play. Even Windows Explorer takes a few seconds when they are spun down.

Even Windows Explorer takes a few seconds when they are spun down. Yeh I dont think thats the issure as it hasnt been a problem before and navigation is perfect in MBT
mattyg8 18 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I have media browser server setup on my main pc then have a laptop setup in the bedroom running MBT. This ran perfectly except for the last few weeks. Scrolling and fast forwarding works fine but when it comes to entering a movie or show it takes up to a minute to get it to play any background movie or to play the movie itself This hasnt been a problem before and I havent changed anything
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Make sure the IP address that the client is looking at actually matches the IP of the server. I had this issue when my machine was recently rebuilt. The initial IP of the machine was 192.168.0.64. This is in my DHCP range. When I installed and ran MBT the first time, it found the server here and connected without problems. After a bit of setup, I moved my server back to its dedicated IP of 192.168.0.3. MBT still connected but there were delays while it searched for the server at the old IP and when failing casting a broadcast notice to find it. However once I updated the IP address, the delays vanished. It has been mentioned that you can use the machines network name as well. e.g. //wayne-pc/. I haven't tested this though.

mattyg8 18 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I had it set to the IP address but also tried MATT-PC and it logs in fine and all covers and info ect run fast its just when you click play movie or show it takes for ever...It used to work perfectly, Id click on How I Met your Mother and it would play background video theme instantly but now it doesnt play theme video or it will after a min or so, so I click play and usually it crashes as it then starts to play the background theme video and main show at same time

Nah I dont believe so my comp is on 24/7 and hard disks dont slow down actually It has always been set to turn off hard disk after 20 mins but it has worked perfectly before Edited January 28, 2014 by mattyg8
Mopar_Mudder 14 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Another long shot, but make sure you don't have an IP conflict, two devices with the same IP. Way back when the first MB came out I was using My Movies, MB was slow and crashed often but My Movies worked perfect. By pure accident I found that the static IP I gave my server was also in the range of my DHCP with was giving that address out to a device that had a dynamic IP. For what ever reason this never bothered My Movies but MB didn't like it at all, and it shouldn't.

mattyg8 18 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Ohk I hooked up another laptop and it works perfect...I have no idea why I cant get it to work on the original one...its i3 Ive tried unistalling MBT and MBC, I get an error when trying to enter MBC
