Hammerhead 4 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 I've been having trouble getting the 2nd disc (.mkv) of two-part movies to play sequentially. I originally had the files named _____Part_1.mkv and so on, and I've tried renaming as '_____dvd1.mkv, but I'm still having no luck. Any help is appreciated. Currently running Emby 3.1.1, but had the same problem with 3.0.6. Thanks in advance!
Luke 42077 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Hi @@Hammerhead, does part 2 show up on the detail screen under additional parts?
Hammerhead 4 Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Hi @@Hammerhead, does part 2 show up on the detail screen under additional parts? Not sure where to look for the 'detail screen' - do you mean in the metadata view or in movie view in my browser? In either case, I'm not seeing 'additional parts' anywhere, so I'm either looking in the wrong spot or it's not there.
Luke 42077 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 the detail screen of the built in web app. in other words, the one where you would go in order to play it. under the main section there should be another section called Additional Parts.

Ah. Got it. Yes, it's there. But I'm running an Nvidia Shield TV (Android) and that option doesn't appear on the screen. It's only appearing in the web browser. Is there a fix?
Luke 42077 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 We have not yet implemented multi-file video support in all of the apps, so that's why you don't see it. for maximum compatibility, consider joining the files. ultimately we will get there and the feature will be available in all apps.

Gotcha. What would you recommend to do the join? I used MakeMKV to rip, but never tried it for this purpose so I'm not sure if it'll do what I need.
Luke 42077 Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 mkvtoolnix because you can just drag the two parts into the window, click a button and you're done.
