tojo2503 3 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Hi, I'm new to Emby and use it on a Cubox-i4 pro iwht imx6 processor. My favourite feature is the hardware accelerated transcoding option to stream my media to any device. It works great with an RPi3 but I can't get it working with my Cubox-i4. It use the standard LibreElec distro and tried to compile it by myself with the mmal or openmax option enabled but I can't get it working. Are there any experimental ffmpeg-versions to test or does anybody know how to build the proper ffmpeg that would work? Would be really great. Thanks for your support. :-)
tojo2503 3 Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) have you tried the va api option? Hi, no not yet, tried it with OpenMAX and mmal because the RPi supports it. Do you know if the imx6 does support the va api or have you heard of any success? I could find this thread: https://community.nxp.com/thread/302619 and this document: https://community.nxp.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/317735-1-256858/VPU_API_RM_L3.0.35_1.1.0.pdf But this does not really tell me anything... I will give it a shot tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the answer. Edited December 30, 2016 by tojo2503
tojo2503 3 Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 Ah ok. Interesting info, thanks. Sorry, I'm not a native speaker. Was that sarcasm or really useful? I still have no idea if it even makes sence to try to get VA-API running, could you please just clarify that for me or tell if you have heard of any success of this on imx6-devices?
Luke 42077 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 I don't know if it will work for your device, I was just offering it as a suggestion.

Thanks for your support. :-) Yes, I have built it with openmax, mmal is for the camera so it is pointless. Performance was not all that great in my tests. You need to have the raspberry pi userland installed for it to work. I will see about posting an ffmpeg version of it.

Awesome, thanks! Do you use LibreElec for it? I get errors when using both of them but I just gave it a direct shot. Will try it again tomorrow or next week. :-) I suppose for the use in LibreElec we need more packages in it. I already tried before I asked to compile it using Raspberry Pi Userland but couldn't manage it. At least I know now that OpenMAX is working on imx6 with Emby. Maybe we can bring it into LibreElec, would be a great feature. Will have a look into it tomorrow.

Hi, unfortunately both of them don't work for me. The first one does not work at all, the second one works with direct streaming. Once I enable transcoding I get the following log: http://pastebin.com/L415bK2Q The lib is not found (/opt does not even exist on LibreElec). The original configuration file from LibreElec including addons is here: https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv/blob/master/packages/addons/addon-depends/emby-depends/ffmpegx/package.mk If I try to compile it by myself I get stuck. Did you use any cross-compile arguments while building the Raspberry Pi Userland? I think my mistake is somewhere there... Which of the ffmpeg libs are necessary (I think most of them belong to mmal). Thanks for the help so far! :-)
hurricanehrndz 149 Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I used the userland that was compiled and already available Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
