Michael K. 24 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) Since updating to Emby 3.1.2.0, I've noticed differences with transcoding. Transcoding continues to run for 1+ minute after playback stops. I'm using Apple TV. Transcoding does not continue linearly... by this I mean that transcoding starts(with associated playlist and log file), then during playback or after stopping playback, the transcoding restarts with new playlist and new log file. Occasionally, the transcoding will not terminate at all until it reaches the end of the file, which can be a long time, even if playback has stopped and other title starts to play. This can be frustrating because the extra load on the processor interrupts/prevents the playback of the next selection I'm trying to watch. Log files attached. Is anyone else experiencing this? ffmpeg-transcode-6ed9fdc7-d2d1-41a7-a7ca-c82caa08d456.txt ffmpeg-transcode-7465abbb-e413-4e23-9d63-44e70916d21e.txt server-63618652800.txt Edited December 30, 2016 by Michael K.
Michael K. 24 Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 Also attached is screenshot with two transcodes running. A previous video I was playing and the current selection I'm trying to watch.
Luke 42083 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 It is probably more likely related to the tvOS update and the way the app is signaling completion to the server. If nothing is actively downloading the stream, the server will stop ffmpeg on it's own within a few minutes. we'll test it out and see if we can reproduce. thanks.
Michael K. 24 Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 To help confirm your suspicion... I just played via the FireFox browser and the transcode terminated instantly. 1
