PenkethBoy 2068 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 With the various changes to the web app recently it appears there are a lot of missing or inconsistent display options across the various library types when viewed via the web app (not checked the other apps) The Home Screen Some groups of information have the "coloured Info pane" some do not - some are shown as Poster Cards and some as Thumb Cards or just poster or just thumb. The upshot of this is a very messy and inconsistent view with no ability to control or configure how it looks other than which order they display in. For me i get Continue Watching - Thumb Card Latest Audio Books - Poster Card Latest Music - Poster Card Latest Music Videos - Thumb Latest Podcast - Poster Card Latest Movies - Poster Card Latest TV - Thumb Card Latest Ted Talks (Other Video) - Poster Latest Recording - Thumb Card Can we have some options to control the way this is displayed as for me its very messy (lots of colours) and could be cleaned up a lot with little effort. Others may like the rainbow effect of all the cards being colours and i am not asking for it to be taken away just want to turn it off. Movies Pages Suggestions - No Display options at all - would be beneficial to choose how Continue Watching and Latest Movies were displayed. Movies - Have the options needed to display how you may wish - in my view this is how all pages should be setup to give the user the option to change the look etc Trailers - Missing View Type Options Collections - View Type Options available - but no filter Options Genres - No View options at all Studios - No View options at all TV Pages Suggestions - See Movies pages above Latest Episodes - No Display Options Upcoming - No Display Options Shows - All Options available Genres - No Options Available Networks - No Options Available Episodes - Missing Thumb options and poster views have rounded corners - no colours (yah!) but no other page has Posters with rounder corners Music Pages Suggestions - No options Albums - No Thumbs option - I guess this is because no landscape art exists as CD's are square Album Artists - No Thumb options although fanart does exist Artists - No Thumb options although fanart does exist Songs - Dont use this page myself because with 5k of song its a bit cumbersome Genres - Old format Genre screen with no sort or filter options - actually prefer this layout to the new one - but can we be consistent and /or have both? Folders - No View options, filter or sort. We could debate the order of the pages within each group but can live with them for now. I have not gone through all the library types but they all exhibit the same issues Some of the missing options listed above might have reasons - e.g where multiple types of media are displayed on the same page - Home screen and Suggestion pages - but this is just coding being missing not a difficult thing to do. So could we have some or preferably all the above options added and the consistency returned which would improve the user experience etc Thanks T Server Version 3.1.6206.5924
Luke 42077 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Many of those screens are dealing with media types that aren't going to have those images, therefore having options for banner, thumb, etc, may not make sense if you're just going to end up seeing a wall of colored squares. For genres, music is it's own animal and should not be influenced by anything that is happening with tv or movies. As far as filter/sort, yes these should be added anywhere.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 Sorry disagree most of those screens have the required images we just dont have the options to use them - hence the wall of colours and big and small images etc Music maybe different but not having the options that can be used makes for a mess of colours and its the users choice, is it not, how they want the library to look - a lot of metadata images get downloaded and we can't in some cases use them
