x-cimo 23 Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 I am planning to buy a current generation Chromecast for my in-laws. They would use their android tablet to cast to the chromecast. However their internet connection is only 10Mbps, how would I enforce a bitrate lower than that for the chromecast? Would I be better with a Roku Streaming stick? Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Hi, either one is fine. The Chromecast app will automatically detect the ideal bitrate and should work out of the box. If you need to limit globally you can check out the setting in the server dashboard under Playback -> Streaming, although this will affect everyone. They can also adjust the quality from inside the casting apps.
