Stacked movies: only the part 1 played

I am using latest plugin from 1.0.3 repo with libreelec 7 (openelec 6 shows the same problem) and Emby server on separate machines. I have a movie which consists of 2 parts, named according to emby naming conventions. In Kodi it is shown as a single movie, as expected. But when I play this movie, only the 1st part is played and then Kodi complains that it cannot find next file to play.

Library on Embe server is located at
/media/078cb749-d284-4bc0-a34e-000073f1e3d0/movies
This path has a path substitution to \\192.168.1.250\фильмы

Movie itself is located in the library in the folder
/media/078cb749-d284-4bc0-a34e-000073f1e3d0/movies/чародеи

Movie parts are
/media/078cb749-d284-4bc0-a34e-000073f1e3d0/movies/чародеи/movie-pt1.avi
/media/078cb749-d284-4bc0-a34e-000073f1e3d0/movies/чародеи/movie-pt2.avi

As you can see from the attached log, it corrrectly starts playing the 1st part from the smb share

but when it comes to the 2nd part, the plugin does not use path substitution, trying to open the file from emby server local share

of course this fails cause Kodi and Emby are different machines

Not sure about Video files but for DVD VIDEO_TS rips pressing this button quickly before the first disc ends starts playback of the second disc. 

 

But its a bit clunky and playback of the second disc doesn't seem to start in full screen mode.

Also in the Emby web GUI the second disc has to be listed as an "Additional Parts" as you can see in this screen shot.

Do people *really* have that many multi-disc titles?  I merged the few I had years ago..

I kinda agree for video files like .avi or whatever, there are many utilities you can download to join up video files and I have done that myself for some video files. 

 

DVD VIDEO_TS rips are a bit more tricky, you would have to re-encode them in to a video file format, but I can only think of one movie I have where there is a second disc.

I do have the same issue. The additional parts show up on Emby GUI correctly but on Kodi only the first part is played. I also tried the suggestion but It doesn't seem to work.

 

Any more suggestions?

I haven't tried with multi-disc, but makemkv with create an mkv from a VIDEO_TS very quickly - then you could merge the mkv.  Again a bit of a pain, but so it dealing with the two disc thing - even when it works right.
