Media/TV/Network odd display

I noticed since server 3.1 a display anomaly, most networks have their names displayed under tiles, but some have it appear within tiles (AXS and Canal+ in this capture) IMO, it would look better if they all display similarly (under)

The one with the name on top of it doesn't have a thumb image.

?? in the screen capture, only cbc is a placeholder, and its name appears under

OK, I know what you mean, primary vs thumb

Correct.  But you are also right that, now that we have the cards, there really is no need for the overlay even when there isn't a thumb.

In this case, it would be handy if from Edit Images, I could "share" my primary image over to thumbs

yes.. you "can" manually by opening the image and saving it and then uploading it as the other "type"... but theres a FR someplace..i can find it right now.. to streamline that and say.. save this "background" as a "thumb" etc.. it was a great feature of say metaBrowser or other metadata tools that emby should add someday

What's a FR?

Also I have no success at all in "opening the image"

Edit images gives me this, but then I can't do anything else with it

ok... this may be confusing to follow.. in your screenshot.. hit the magnifying glass... to bring up the "choices" for that image... then when youre on the next popup...  click on the IMAGE ITSELF to "open it" in a tab...  then right click to save the image...

go back to the edit images page... and now hit the + to upload your saved image and change the image-type to "thumb"   ... when you had used a "backdrop".. etc

oh and FR is Feature Request.. so it can be added into the product at some point... i was fairly sure this has been "submitted" already long ago

There are 2 magnifying glass, but they both seem to to the same thing: bring me to search for other images, not choices about the previous one. At this point my image is not showing

That's just because there are no other sources available for studio images.

ok from there.. its a background right?? so drop that box to background and you should see the 1 image you already have (at least.. maybe there are multiple)... then continue the rest of the steps i laid out

on mine the default sourced image was already a "thumb"... so i could follow these steps to reuse this image as a "backdrop" .. just have to flip the types in what i posted above...

I thought it was a "primary", but I tried all choices in Image drop down box, none of which gives back the image

Edit: my pic is primary if I look back at post# 9

Maybe the difference is mine was downloaded "manually" thru the "+" sign

Very likely so, I just did as you said with another studio logo (that Emby found on its own) and yes, when I set the box to thumb, it brings back the image.

Doesn't work for some reason with user-added picture

It's a little ironic that I can fix the studios that don't require any fixing (as emby found their logo on its own), but for all those that had the plain colored tiles, it looks like I'll have to redo all of those, but this time, make sure I set pic to thumb type.

What do you mean can't fix it? you could just upload your own image.

That's what I called having to redo those all over again. When I first uploaded missing studio logo pictures, I saved them as Primary (instead of Thumbs), look back at my first post's screen capture to see how those look beside the one Emby found on its own.

I'm wondering why user added pictures can't be worked upon the same as Emby found one's like MrWebsmith explained

My only mistake, if I can call it that, is that back when I was fixing all those studios that were showing a colored tile instead of a logo, I left image type to the default Primary, instead of forcing them as thumbs.

Just like in post #11 if you change the image type to thumb you get your original image.

@@Luke can studio/network search be defaulted or limited to only thumbs, like you did with the search option for backdrops?

Sorry, remind me what I did for backdrops? Thanks.

not if they're user-added, even if they were added as thumb.
