TV and Mobile both show as "Emby"

Hi

 

I have both emby apps installed on my Android box and in apps they both show as Emby.  Whats worse is that there position changes based on what was updated last!

 

Any chance you can rename the Android TV app to "Emby TV" or something?

Aren't they different colours though?

 

Blue is the ATV app and green is the Android app?

 

Why do you have both installed? Is your Android box not an official Android TV box?

No, its not.

Its a Qbox - so no not official Android TV.  I have both as each has issues. But between them i can cope!!

 

They appear as the same colour on my app menu.

 

I also have them both on my phone - for testing - same issue same colour.

how could you have the AndroidTV version of the app installed on a non-AndroidTV device.

With ease.  Playstore - there it is on both Qbox and Samsung Phone.

it shouldn't let you install it on a non-Android TV device though.

looks like the play store listing has been set wrong if it is being presented as being compatible with a non-Android TV device.

That is probably deliberate on behalf of Emby so that you can at least TRY and use it on the cheaper android TV boxes.

 

However it is a non issue now as I have moved on to Fire TV and Android TV MIBOX
