Corteq 5 Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 I have about 900 movies recorded as DVR-MS using Media Center. Playback in Emby for WMC is fine but using the Web Client or EMT the video ends and returns to the item menu if I try to navigate using any method, mouse clicking on timeline, fast forward or next on remote. This is consistent with all recordings and DVD's that were converted to DVR-MS. I used to prefer this container as it worked well with XBox 360 extenders, hence the large collection. I have tested this again under the latest 3.1 build and the issue still exists. Is DVR-MS no longer supported by Emby?

Corteq 5 Posted December 25, 2016 Author Posted December 25, 2016 Well the web client behavior has changed, perhaps due to the update? Now when you try to navigate the movie doesn't crash but the video freezes, audio continues. This happens about half the time. I don't use the web client much because it won't play these movies widescreen as EMT does and theere seems no way to adjust this. Perhaps you could assist here? At least in Media Centre we can use the zoom controls. EMT still crashes the movie if I try to navigate or select a chapter to start from. MKV plays perfectly. Moving forward I can see this will be the best container to use and I just have to resolve streaming issues, so I will wean out DVR-MS as much as possible. I am enjoying learning Emby but my family think this is all bonkers. They just want ONE consistent interface that will play ALL our movies as they are supposed to be. We have that with Media Centre so I have got to sort these issues before I can drop Media Centre entirely. Corteq 5 Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Is there any progress on this? I am getting fed up with Emby Theatre. Apart from navigation issues many DVRMS videos crash the system when played through MBT and a large proportion of 2.35:1 movies show as 1.43:1 both in MBT and the web client. I have had no problem with these movies in Media Center for years. Added to that keyboard navigation is extremely limited and I am left wondering why I paid for a lifetime subscription to a product that still feels like an early beta release.

What we can do for now to get you unblocked is have the server remux them until we figure out the client-side issue. For what it's worth the sample you gave me plays with the correct A/R in both apps. If you want to provide a sample video of one that is not, I will be happy to test it. Thanks !
