CoverArt Custom Overlays

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a few custom overlays I would like to use.

I have tried placing them in the location  \AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\plugins\CoverArt\Custom-Overlays with the names mkv.png, dvrms.png and  bd.png but they don't get used.

Is there something I am doing wrong here? Alternatively, can I overwrite the default covers with mine? The only ones I have found are in the cache folder which gets updated and blows away my custom covers.

Thanks for your time.

I could be wrong but that custom folder only applies to indicators (3D, Media Info icons, Specials, subtitles).  Would be nice if we could use that folder for our custom treatments.

Good day,

As Happy2Play said, also naming the custom png images is important for CA to pickup these indicators.

The alternative would be to replace the default covers but I don't see where these are located. I used to use StarkCovers and spent a day stripping out all of these to return back to folder.jpg's in order to use CoverArt. The automated process and flexibility of CoverArt seemed worthwhile.

I obviously misunderstood the purpose of the custom overlay folder so my choice now is to either overwrite the defaults or return to StarkCovers. Any other options? Here's an example of one of my covers. The colour is the most important thing. With CoverArt there are too many similar colours which makes it harder to distinguish the differences in my library.

Good day,

They are no option for that, covers treatment are build in the coverart.

The only option to request that, and when Ebr have time maybe he will add them.

I have a question about customizing coverart cases. I have changed the colors of the coverart cases in the C:\Users\p****\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\cache\coverart\4.0.22.0\ThickCase folder and they stay there for a few hours to a couple days and they do apply correctly to all my movies. They eventually  disappear from the folder and are replaced with the original case art then they are randomly replaced in Emby for Media Center and ET and I have to start again. Is there a way to lock the folder so they are left alone ?

Thanks for all the GREAT WORK

Not that I have found.  I said the same in another topic.  Even making the folders read only didn't help.

Thanks for the reply I greatly appreciate that. Maybe someone will chime in with a brainstorm of an Idea. I know it is not on anyone's "High Priority" list but it would be nice to find a simple solution

Thanks Again

I have been experimenting with the case covers and found that all the case covers you are using are loaded into C:\Users\p****\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\cache\coverart\4.0.22.0\ThickCase folder or whatever folder you have chosen to use they can be changed permanently or until a CA update is applied. I used Gimp to change the colors by just dragging the case cover and under the color tab there are many options to change the look of the case cover. I did this three days ago and so far they have not changed....possibly worth a try for anyone looking to do so.

Hey

May I dig this topic out again?

Any chance to make custom overlays also work for custom treatments? So that we can define

map overlay a to all movies in folder a

This would be very helpful for people who use strm files, as they have no media info the overlays could make use of.

Best regards
