Continuing LiveTV issues

As we wait for some pending improvements to migrate over from the web client, I want to point out that there are still some lingering issues that have been mentioned several times - I don't want them to get missed/forgotten.

 

Cannot play LiveTV item using the "Play" command directly from the guide.  When using "Play" keyboard combo Ctrl-Shift-P from the guide grid, it does not play the currently selected item/channel.  Instead it launches a movie from my library.  The movie item happens to be the first movie in the library based on an alpha-numeric sort - not sure if that is just coincidence.  If I go into the detail for the show at the current timeslot and use the onscreen play button, it plays the channel fine.  If while on the grid I have the channel name highlighted (instead of the show on that channel) and use the key combo, it plays fine.  The attached logs (both ET and Server) show me restarting both fresh, navigating the guide grid, and using the Ctrl-Shift-P combo while the selector is on a show name at the current timeslot.  Why is this important you ask?  Because not everyone uses a 6-button remote.  I have this key combo mapped to the "Play" button on my remote and I want to be able to start playback from the grid without having to go into the detail screen.  This is an advertised functionality that was previously working.

 

Focus issues are still happening in the detail screens for LIveTV items.  In the past few days a fix was put in (I don't want to link to that thread because I don't want this merged into it again) - but that only fixed the detail screen for items that are in the current timeslot.  Focus is still broken for any future items - the selector is on the channel name, and CANNOT be moved to the record button or anything actually useful.  Steps to reproduce:  Browse to TV guide, find a show at some time in the future (anything at any timeslot other that "now" - any LiveTV item where the the "Play" button isn't displayed on screen).  Why is this important you ask?  Well, what if I want to record something in the future...

 

CURRENT TIMESLOT (this works - mostly, though why the channel name is still a clickable button... it doesn't make sense to me... and it goes in a different order depending on whether you're moving up or down)

 

FUTURE TIMESLOT  - same channel as above - (completely broken - cannot move to the Record button)

 

 

One other thing:  Why for the love of TV can we still not use the pageup/pagedown buttons to move through the guide?

Yes, can now press the "Play" key combo on any show (current or future) and it starts live playback of that channel.  This is now working as expected.

 

Yes, can go to the detail screen of future showings, and am able to move the selector to the Record button.  It does still highlight the channel name (button) by default though.  I'm still not convinced that the channel name should be a button... but...

 

No, the pageup/pagedown doesn't work
