CharleyVarrick 283 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) I noticed while trying to cleanup movies studios that Emby is cap sensitive. For instance, if I have studios named mgm, Mgm, MGM (and so on), they will be listed as 3 different studios. Is this expected behavior from Emby? My 5 cents is it shouldn't... Happy2Play 9784 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Are these your custom studios or just really old metadata? I have never seen studios fetched differently like that.
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 Nothing custom, quite the opposite I'm trying to achieve. As far as old metadata, stuff like studios is not embedded in the mp4/mkv's AFAIK, it's been scrapped in the last couple of months.
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) Here's an example: Spelling is identical if not for case BTW, it is interesting to note that the exact same 6 movies are mentioned in both instances Edited December 11, 2016 by jlr19
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) Thought I might add this: if I navigate in windows to \\SRVR\jlr\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\metadata\Studio Windows report 1595 elements (folders) in there. If I go in Kodi/videos/studios, there it shows 9615 items Unfortunately, Emby server does not display number of studios (as it does for number of movies for instance) I suspect that Emby's number of movie studios is neither Windows's nor Kodi's, but somewhere in between Edited December 11, 2016 by jlr19

I believe this (relatively) low numbers represents studios for which Emby has art, as in studio logo
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted December 12, 2016 Author Posted December 12, 2016 Another thing worth noting is that Kodi does not consider capital letters and list all variations as a single entry.
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) Just browsing in server/media/movies/studios a few pages, I found: Alta Vista Productions alta vista productions ANCINE ancine arte ARTE Benderspink BenderSpink Bergman Lustig Productions Bergman Lustig productions CiBy 2000 Ciby 2000 DreamWorks Pictures Dreamworks Pictures Eclectic Pictures Eclectic pictures And so on. Ironically, Studio Cleaner does not see those capitalization dupes. I would be grateful if someone could look into this Edited December 14, 2016 by jlr19
