Should I not expect the Home Screen view to match what I have selected under Server->Profile->Home Screen?

There I have:

Latest Media (should have TV and Movies sections)

Next Up

My Media

But in the Android app I see:

Library

Continue Watching

Next Up TV

Latest Movies (only movies)

Version 1.3.4g

Thanks,

xnappo

Yea we recognize the need to improve the consistency here and it's in our plans to address this.

Cool - I really like the navigation on this client - once that customization is there to meet the family's expectations, I think I will switch at least one 'production' machine over from Kodi and see how it does.

Please don't, as I like it the way it is.

I don't like the ET-style layout, never have done, never will do, so please leave the ATV app alone :)

I am asking for what is presented on the Home screen to be customizeable, not to match ET. You could set it up to match how it is now.

On the server under the User icon.  The client home screen is supposed to be customizable per user.  I don't really care if this setting is used or not, but I want 'Latest TV' on the home screen - and following this setting allows the user to do whatever they want.

it says "Emby Theatre" under the user icon.

@@CBers these settings would make it match how it is hard-coded right now:

It's not so much the vertical/horizontal layout choices that need to become consistent as though are often decided on a per platform basis. It's things like what sections of content you see, in what order, with what labels, etc. Those are the things we want to be consistent.

Yep.  Though as I have mentioned before - I would love to see the Android TV layout in ET.  I may play with the skinning stuff again.

Just out of curiosity, what do you use "Latest TV" for that "Next Up" doesn't give you...?

So as an example, I get home from work and 'The Daily Show' will be the first thing on the 'Latest' list. I watch it and delete it.

Same for other shows that are watched religiously as soon as available, they are always easy to access. If I didn't delete TV episodes NextUp might work like that, not sure how its logic decides the order.

I do also use NextUp, but not for those watch-as-soon-as-they-show-up shows.

Okay, thanks.  It is the "watch and delete" scenario I think that makes this work for you better.

I use it in a similar way. Latest is for the shows I know are airing soon so I get watch them as soon as they are available, up next is for "What should we watch?" when we've exhausted our must watch shows.

Yep - exactly.

@@CBers You would be able to keep it exactly how it is right now if you wanted or change the ordering if you want as well.

Okay, then this doesn't effect you...

I think maybe what he is saying is that he doesn't want the setting sychronized.  He likes the web app one way and the TV app another.

Yeah, I don't really care if they are sync'ed or not, just want the customization available.

...if the "premiere's row logic" came from EATV app to web client that would be a nice side-effect of this thread... i also dont want/need them to be in lock-sync.. but that would be a nice addition to the web home page for me... i like that row in the client app
