mastrmind11 722 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Seems like the only hardware change will be AC wi-fi. https://www.slashgear.com/nvidia-shield-android-tv-reboot-coming-to-ces-2017-06466583/ Too bad . I don't think a changethat minimal will warrant a drastic price drop on the original version.
Luke 42077 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Thanks for the info. The good news is that it's still a pretty strong device as it currently stands.
Jdiesel 1431 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 To be honest the current version didn't really need an update hardware wise as it is still more than capable and no other device really comes close. A new controller and better wifi will be good for those looking to buy but not enough of a reason to upgrade for those who already have one. On the plus side support for the current one is likely to be unaffected at all and the new one should work with existing apps on day one.
CBers 7450 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Hopefully more news will be forthcoming soon.
