pinkfloydhomer 1 Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I use Chromecast Ultra as my Emby (and Plex) client and my Windows 10 PC as my server. Plex has a feature where I can select quality during playback, say, from 64 Kbbs through 20 Mbps to "Original" or "DirectPlay" etc. I can do this both from the web interface and the android app, playing to Chromecast Ultra. I think it would be very nice if Emby got this also, especially the DirectPlay option. Another nice feature would be an information/debug overlay on top of the video showing the video and audio codec information of the source file/stream and and the audio and video codec information of the destination file/stream, and Emby is transcoding or not, available subtitles etc. Any chance for any of these? 1

Fairly certain you can select quality on the fly in all Emby apps right now. I'm also fairly certain the video info overlay was already feature requested and will be added shortly (check the Feature Requests sub forum).

I think he means having it auto adjust the quality based on the connection speed like Netflix does, if not then yes the feature to select it yourself during playback is there. Auto adjust would be nice though.
Luke 42085 Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 We already have auto for Chromecast, and you can also select a quality in settings prior to playback. The only thing we are missing for Chromecast is on the fly adjustment.
Waseh 4 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 On the fly adjustments would be a very nice addition!
