smalik0 3 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 So the computer on which I run emby bluescreened a couple days ago. After it booted back up, Emby refused to start, freezing on the loading screen and giving the error dialog "Unhandled exception. One or more errors occurred." I have tried rebooting the machine several times, as well as reinstalling Emby with no change. Is there a way I could manually clear out all of Emby's files and do a clean install? (my media is on a separate drive).
Luke 42080 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this. Please provide any emby server logs that might have been created during this time. You can find instructions on how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks !
ebr 16185 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Did you determine and fix the cause of the BSOD? That usually indicates a hardware driver issue and, if it was storage related, it may have corrupted a disc...
Solution smalik0 3 Posted December 3, 2016 Author Solution Posted December 3, 2016 Here's the log file. It looks like the SQL database was corrupted (the BSOD was due to a file corruption issue so I ran chkdsk and backed up everything). Should I just delete the database and rescan the library to regenerate it? And where in the filesystem is the database located? server-63616364842.txt 1
Luke 42080 Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Hi, yes go here: C:\Users\Saameh\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\data delete the activity.db database, then start the server back up. thanks !
jeflatt 6 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) My router crashed this morning. So I rebooted it, and then rebooted the computer afterwards. I have been getting this error message ever since, and have been unable to start the Emby server. I have tried rebooting the computer again, and restarting the server, all with the same result. I have included all of the error logs since this started happening. P.S. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. server-63621207789.txt unhandled_f356c7dc-8ad2-489a-81d4-ee2e50ee0ceb.txt server-63621207656.txt unhandled_52989f2c-e2e9-48d7-9c49-160dbf845b29.txt server-63621206588.txt unhandled_4c23305a-2167-46ab-8e8a-61f7921e3e2c.txt server-63621158400.txt Edited January 28, 2017 by jeflatt
Luke 42080 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 hi @@jeflatt, try installing from the website on top of your existing version. That might temporarily get you going again, but just be aware I think you need to consider running hardware diagnostics to check for possible hard drive or memory failures. Let us know how it goes. Thanks !
jeflatt 6 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I've had problems with one of my hard drives in the past, so that doesn't surprise me. Never knew if it was a hardware or software issue. So just to follow up, thank you so much for the advice because it worked. I simply ran the error checking utility from the Windows explorer screen on the drive that has caused me grief in the past. It found some errors and fixed them. I then reinstalled Emby server and I'm up and running again. I didn't try starting Emby server immediately after the error checking, so I don't know which of the two steps actually did the trick. I just wanted it done. And now it is. Thank you again.
