jhschulz 3 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Hi, if I download video files to my android device, I don’t want the video files to be transcoded. So each time I select a video for download, I (have to) change the quality setting to "original". Is it somehow possible to set this as default, so that I don’t need to change this for each single download? I haven’t found a way yet.
Luke 42077 Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Hi @@jhschulz, @@nwcatalyst. Thank you for your feedback on this. I am adding this to the next update of the app. It will just remember your previous selection. Thanks !
Luke 42077 Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Same, but for music also! Hi @@nwcatalyst, there is already a setting for music. Have you explored the in-app sync settings? Since it's already there, what can we do better to make you aware of it?
nwcatalyst 4 Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Hi @@nwcatalyst, there is already a setting for music. Have you explored the in-app sync settings? Since it's already there, what can we do better to make you aware of it? Are you talking about "max audio bitrate" ? Because I know where that is and have it set to "none", however I still have to manually choose "original" quality every time I try and sync something. As a side note, sync is still completely unreliable for me. I will follow up in another thread...
Luke 42077 Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Are you talking about "max audio bitrate" ? Because I know where that is and have it set to "none", however I still have to manually choose "original" quality every time I try and sync something. As a side note, sync is still completely unreliable for me. I will follow up in another thread... When you sync music you are not given a quality selection, for the sake of simplicity. So it pulls from the setting, whereas with video you get to pick.
nwcatalyst 4 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Hmm.... I use playlists currently because there is no way to sync my entire music library (add that to the "to do list", please) and this is the screen that comes up after I click "Sync To Other Device" or "Make Avail Offline" with a music playlist...As a side note, the sync task still stuggles beyond comprehension, constantly repeating songs, restarting back to square one, and never completing. I've tried with smaller playlists (10 tracks) and larger (100 tracks) and it has yet to complete one successfully. As a premier lifetime subscriber, this was a critical function for me buying the app. I love the concept of open source software and I appreciate your efforts. And I think this ought to get fixed soon..If you PM me your email address I will send you my logs as I don't want to post on a forum.
Luke 42077 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Thanks for the report. I'll take another look at syncing playlists.
RXP 0 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Did this ever get resolved? I'm having the same issue - I just only ever want original files but keep having to manually set it. Just came back to a huge overnight transcoding session because I forgot to select original and wasted a bunch of electricity
Luke 42077 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 yes, when you create a download, your quality selection will be remembered for the next one and will default to that.
RXP 0 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Ah - I was using Foldersync - it doesn't remember for that. Anyway to add it to Foldersync too?
Luke 42077 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 @@RXP i tested this and it's already there in folder sync. Please let us know if this helps. thanks !
