happpyg 20 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Hi All, I have recently moved from a shared MySQL Library to Emby, so much better!. Everything is working fine except I cant get Emby to display artwork and scrape IMDB data etc for my 3D movies like it does for all over movies. It all worked fine when I was using Kodi natively and it's scrapers and I have the movies named as per naming conventions (moviename.3d.sbs.mkv etc) however they only ever show up in Emby with a random frame from the movie and the original filename as the title - not the proper movie title. See screenshot, middle. Emby does pick up the fact that it is 3D and sets the 3D type in the metadata but all other medadata is blank. I have looked around and according to other posts I am naming my files as per Embys conventions here https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/3D%20videos but I must be missing something? Thanks!
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Have your tried "Identify" using the External Ids from the other version?
happpyg 20 Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 Have your tried "Identify" using the External Ids from the other version? Thanks, yes, if I force identify with the IMDB ID or TMDB ID it will then update the metadata and display fine in Emby. I was wondering why it didn't do this automatically though as if I drop the exact same 2D movie into my movie folder without the "3d.hsbs" tags Emby finds it and goes away and correctly identifies the movie and downloads artwork etc as expected. Is Emby designed to use the "3d.hsbs" etc tags just to identify it as a 3D movie and what type (SBS/TAB etc) and then use the movie name pre the tags to identify the name of the movie? I am not sure how this process works and what the difference is.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) @@Luke there is an issue searching the name scheme. I guess you would say it isn't parsed properly when searching so you get no results. 2016-11-29 16:30:55.3781 Info HttpClient: HttpClientManager GET: https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?api_key=f6bd687ffa63cd282b6ff2c6877f2669&query=Oblivion+3d+hsbs&language=en 2016-11-29 16:30:55.5011 Debug App: MovieDbProvider returned no metadata for C:\Users\media\Desktop\Video Test\Movies\Oblivion\Oblivion.3d.hsbs.mkv 2016-11-29 16:30:55.5011 Debug App: Running OmdbItemProvider for C:\Users\media\Desktop\Video Test\Movies\Oblivion\Oblivion.3d.hsbs.mkv 2016-11-29 16:30:55.5011 Info HttpClient: HttpClientManager GET: https://www.omdbapi.com/?plot=full&r=json&t=Oblivion.3d.hsbs&type=movie 2016-11-29 16:30:55.5669 Debug App: OmdbItemProvider returned no metadata for C:\Users\media\Desktop\Video Test\Movies\Oblivion\Oblivion.3d.hsbs.mkv Edited November 30, 2016 by Happy2Play
Luke 42077 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Thanks. This is resolved for the next release of Emby Server. 1
Luke 42077 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Just be aware it won't rescan existing titles, so they will need manual refreshes unless you've taken care of them already. New content won't be affected by this issue any longer.

No pressure, just new to Emby and not sure about this sort of thing yet.
