For now I know for sure it's happening when playing back from AppleTV, but I suspect the same is what's happening to my ChromeCast which I've not been able to use in conjunction with Emby. metaman 4 Posted November 28, 2016 Author Posted November 28, 2016 Thanks for swift response. Alright, so, been having this issue for weeks. It causes the playback stop; like completely. Need to do a refresh to get it online again, only to see the same thing happen further down the line, making it a playback full of interruptions. Thinking of it, I've seen it with AppleTV, ChromeCast and Chrome browser. Something breaks the playback and refresh seems the only way out of it. Not sure if relevant, but also running Emby behind an nginx proxy using a config I found from here(supposedly legit and functional). Not positive about this or if just a coincidence; but some files may be are more affected than others. Attaching the log, although, had to zip it. Let me know if that wont work for you. There are multiple entries of these errors in the logs and one just occurred now, on the AppleTV. Leaving the ChromeCast and LibreElec running to see whether they occur also on those devices, currently direct playing. Ideas? edit: Also happened to ChromeCast on a file being transcoded. It appeared not to happen on the ChromeCast diret playing 2 or 3 episodes. Edited November 30, 2016 by metaman

If so are the local clients running thorough the nginx proxy too? If so does everything work when clients connect directly to the emby server via the LAN not running through proxy? If it works bypassing the proxy, please post your NGINX config.

I have a regular setup, except I'm using nginx as a reverse proxy for external clients. Should have clarified that. My LAN side clients connect directly to Emby on standard port 8096, bypassing the proxy altogether. These errors occur with LAN side clients as well as the external clients and that makes me think that NGINX is out of the equation. I am not a 100% positive about this yet, but it might look as if these issues don't occur for content that is direct playing, but only for transcoded stuff ... should look to confirm that. Is the NGINX config still relevant? any further ideas?

We don't recommend switching the same Emby Server installation between release channels, so you'll need to make this a standalone test. Because I can confirm I am having the same (or very similar) issues, albeit on Debian. I noticed there was another more or less recent thread over on the Linux subforum with similar error reports, but this was presumably caused by an outdated version of ffmpeg (user didn't confirm if updating it resolved the issue). In my case however, I'm running the latest stable versions of Emby 3.1.0.0 (error was occuring on previous stable version also), Mono 4.6.2 (Stable 4.6.2.7/08fd525 Mon Nov 28 20:21:32 UTC 2016) and ffmpeg version 3.2-2~bpo8+2 and I'm not running Emby behind a nginx proxy either. I've noticed it's only happening with two different videos at the moment, one of them is definitely crashing at the same time every time. The only thing I seem fairly certain of in my case, is that these errors occur to files being transcoded. Files that are being Direct Played, bypass whatever mechanisms produce the errors. Interesting what you say about the FFMPEG. I went with the FFMPEG version which was linked to me during installation of Emby. @@Luke Apologies of the delay. I could be interested, but will depend on how involved it is ?

My Setup: The latest emby server version 3.1.2, no special tweaks to FFmpeg, using stock from emby I believe. - I cant' say if this issue existed before the latest version or not. Video does not stream on Roku Streaming stick, however video Does stream on Roku TV. Video is on Network Server. - I thought issue may have to do with "folder permissions" issues because I changed the permissions on the video folder. But I've since changed back to the original permissions and have not seen any errors in the logs related to it. For my attached logs: - I've "starred out" some paths - Issue can be found near the bottom. Sorry the log is large. It has been captured in "Debug", and it contains me trying to rebuild the library because I thought that might fix it and some issues from Fanart(not sure why) server-63618652799.txt
