danergo 37 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Hi Gents, I'm running Emby on Linux. It's constantly writing these 2 files below (5 mins set for Organize new media files): /var/lib/emby/ProgramData-Server/data/fileorganization.db /var/lib/emby/ProgramData-Server/data/ScheduledTasks/[random-name].js Is it safe to store /var/lib/emby/ProgramData-Server/data on a tmpfs? This means it's cleared after system restart. Or is it safe to lose fileorganization.db? I assume I can safely store /ScheduledTasks/[random-name].js files on a tmpfs. Now the two files above keeps my HDD spinning all the time. Even when nothing is changed in the file system. However, my libraries are set to be "watched" for changes. This could easily trigger library scan and subtitle downloading, metadata update, etc etc. instead of manual, time-period scheduler. What is your opinion? Thanks.
Luke 42077 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 If you clear the data directory after restart it will be like you just installed Emby Server.
danergo 37 Posted November 28, 2016 Author Posted November 28, 2016 Thanks Luke, And what is fileorganization.db for?
Luke 42077 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Auto-organize. My suggestion is to just go press play and enjoy your movies.
