brandp 0 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Hello. I am new here and not a nativ speaker, so please excuse me when my explanation is not as clear as it should be. I just bought a Cambridge Audio CXN Network Player and tried to set up emby as my audio files resource (mp3, aac and flac). Playback just stops resp. skips after three seconds. Any other Player (iPhone, Windows10 notebook) doesn't seems to have that problem. What might be the issue? I set up the server on my Qnap TS-251 and on my notebook with the same result. I would appreciate any kind of help in here. I really love the emby menu structure
brandp 0 Posted November 27, 2016 Author Posted November 27, 2016 I just tried mp3 from amazon and that worked So it's "only" flac and aac - about 85% of my Music...
Luke 42077 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Does the Cambridge device support these formats?
brandp 0 Posted November 27, 2016 Author Posted November 27, 2016 Yes, with Twonky and Asset UPnP all formats can be played w/o any problem. Is it because of the transcoding?
speechles 2055 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Audio formats ALAC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, DSD (x64), WMA, MP3, AAC, HE AAC, AAC+, OGG Vorbis Good news. The dlna profile emby has for your play-to device needs to be updated to add these direct play codecs. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Luke 42077 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 We don't actually have a profile for this device, so it will be using the default unless it was detected as another one of our profiles. The default profile lists these are direct play formats mp3,wma,aac,wav
brandp 0 Posted November 27, 2016 Author Posted November 27, 2016 OK. Any chance to create a custom profile and include FLAC ans AAC i.e.? I apologize I just started to use emby and should just start the logger first before asking... > 2016-11-27 21:53:09.8704 Info Dlna: No matching device profile found. The default will need to be used.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Can you enable DNLA debug logging and restart your server and play something then post your log. Hopefully this will provide enough information to create a custom profile.
brandp 0 Posted November 28, 2016 Author Posted November 28, 2016 Of course, would you need the whole log or only the part of the "failing" devices? The CXN is capable to play all audio formats w/o transcoding. I just checked the output and only my TV and my Notebook are not known. The CXN seems to be recognized.
