Memory Leak

Currently running 3.0.8500 and about every 3 days I need to either reboot the server or restart the Emby service. This is particularly noticeable when using Live TV is used heavily - I don't normally watch live TV, but my parents moved in 2 weeks ago and they do heavily while I am at work. I came home this evening and Theater was stuck with a frozen image of live TV from ~8:30 this morning. When I tried to use the stop button on the remote there was no effect and when I tried to load the web portal in Chrome it would not load. I ended RDPing to the server to manually restart the service (restart unsuccessful BTW, i had to stop then start the service) and VNC to the HTPC to manually stop then restart Theater.

Pulling stats from Cacti and vSphere showed the linked results for memory usage. If there are particular logs you need, please let me know.

Thanks!

Thanks for the report. This should be improved with the next release of the server.

I have this issue also. Server stops responding and a quick check of task manager shows emby consuming 24+GB of memory.

How to report a problem.

I will report some logs next time it happens, but I have seen the same. I also felt it was linked to liveTV.

I have a beefy server (128GB of ram), emby was using 122GB...   I've looked in the logs and couldn't find anything special.  I'm waiting for this to happen again.

This in on Windows x64

Sorry Luke, next time this occurs I'll post some logs for you guys and more details. So far since the update to beta Version 3.1.235.0 today it has not reoccurred. Thanks!

On recent travel I used emby to watch live TV remotely. I found that after 3 days, emby server was using ~4 GB of memory before the server eventually became non-responsive. Since I cannot shut down the emby service through the interface or task manager, a full server reboot was required to restore functionality. I am using emby 3.1.2.0 and there still seems to be a memory leak associated with live TV in this version. I have not seen memory growth playing movies.

Just an update that memory is still leaking in v3.1.5. Over the past week, memory usage has grown from ~500 MB to 3.3 GB but is still responsive. All indications are that life TV is the culprit as suspected above. I will not submit a week's worth of logs but I am willing to do some testing to supply additional information. Please let me know what tests to run. Thank you.
