Cannot find the media files. I'm 99% positive I'm doing everything right but it just doesn't work

Create new library, select media type, name library, fine.

In the Folder: box, "\\192.168.1.7" (the NAS)

In Shared network folder: "\media\Movies" (the share)

"There was an error adding the media path. Please ensure the path is valid and and the Emby Server process has access to that location."

I get the same result if I replace the IP address with the server name.

Emby owns the Movies share and all files within it.

In the error log, I find "The specified path does not exist: \\192.168.1.7." but that's incorrect.

Absolutely tearing my hair out and about to give up. I must be doing something really wrong but I've tried everything in every combination I can think of.

Emby running on a Raspberry Pi 3 (Raspbian)

The server is NAS4FREE

The two clients will be Kodi on a FireTV box and Fire Stick

Hi, welcome ! The mono runtime does not have native support for unc shares, so what you need to do is mount them internally within the operating system as a local drive, and then add that path to Emby. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !

Ohh okay sweet I thought I saw that somewhere but didn't think I'd need to try it. I'll work on it if Emby ever stops crashing and locking up my Pi long enough for me to get anything done.

Well if that's happening then please provide a server log from that timeframe. Thanks.

Just wanted to pop back in and say thank you. It's starting to work like a dream.
