Jaha 2 Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 I am just getting started with Emby Server with Emby Kodi addon and have a question that i can't find in forum or wiki. Is there any support for user rating so you can set and store your own ratings? In Kodi its called my rating, and in nfo/xml its stored as user rating. Thanks
Luke 42080 Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Hi, welcome. We have this in our back end but in the apps it's just a simple thumbs up
Jaha 2 Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 Ok, thanks. I cant find the thumbs up in the webinterface or the android app. I see heart (favourites) and watched status icons, should it be in that section? How does this user rating work? For example adding <userrating>4</userrating> in nfo-file, should it be a thumb up or down? When i test the Kodi 16.1 Emby addon i can't set user rating / my rating. Will there be any support for this in future Emby for Kodi add on updates? For example to work with the upcoming Kodi Krypton release?
Luke 42080 Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Sorry, my mistake. It is the heart. Internally we have a conversion to thumbs down/up, favorite based on the 0-10 rating. We just stopped showing the thumbs because we thought it was overkill.
Jaha 2 Posted January 22, 2017 Author Posted January 22, 2017 Hi again! Now i tried with latest Kodi krypton (rc3) and beta emby add on. But can't get "my rating" to update <userrating> </userrating> tag in emby / nfo-files. For now I will lose all my ratings because they not saved in emby or nfo-files. Is there a way to solve this or use some alternative method?
Luke 42080 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 We already save userrating to nfo, make sure you have enabled saving user data to nfo files in server metadata settings.
Jaha 2 Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Saving to Nfo-files are working and update/sync with the following things/tags: watched status last played favourites play count So that part is working, but when I change "my rating" in Kodi (Emby for kodi add on) the nfo-files not update with userrating tag. When i testet with only Kodi (not EmbyConnect) and exportert/imported nfo-file i get: <ratings> <rating name="default" max="10" default="true"> <value>6.200000</value> <votes>71788</votes> </rating> </ratings> <userrating>8</userrating> (this is set by me in "my rating" Kodi) When i use Emby i got: <rating>6.2</rating> <criticrating>28</criticrating> <userrating>6</userrating> (I updated all metadata and it changed userrating ?? why?) But in Kodi its still userrating 8 even as I rebuild database from Emby addon. Thanks for all help!
Luke 42080 Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 We don't do a node but we will ignore it and just leave it there.
Jaha 2 Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Ok. Is there a way to change the userrating tag using metadata manager in Emby? I cant find the entry.
Luke 42080 Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Your personal user rating is dictated by the heart buttons. the numeric value in the nfo is converted to/from the emby rating. we used to have thumbs up/down buttons but we eventually removed them from displays because they were not getting a whole lot of use. But anything over a 6 is a like. I think the 8 just got lost in that conversion although we can look at trying to preserve it better.
