latest Update broke Emby

I tried to update Emby Server because my phone app would not work unless i did.

 

The Latest update fails to download. so i grabbed the portable version (why not right?)

anyway. after unzipping and running "mediabrowser.SevrerApplicatoin.exe" i realized (after it failed to load) that it just installed everything in the "download" folder

 

now I can't get Emby server to run any more. It fails with "Unhandled exception: One or more errors occurred"

 

Whats going on with the update?

Portable version need to extracted to a dedicated folder.  If you already have Emby installed on your server you could extract that system folder from the zip and rename and replace the system folder in "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server".

Yes avoid mixing them. If you have the installed version, try instead to update by installing from the website.
