the-dumb1 135 Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Hey guys, I am running Ubuntu 16.10. Back when 16.10 was released, I had to use the 15.10 repository for installing and upgrading the Emby package. Fast forward to today, I am now unable to upgrade Emby. When I run apt-get, it tells me that Emby is 404. I changed the the source in apt to 16.10, and am running across some dependency issues that point to mono-devel and its dependencies. libc6 -- 2.23-0buntu4 is installed (>= 2.24 is needed) libc6.1 is not installable (>=2.24 is needed) libc0.1 is not installable (>=2.24 is needed) libglib2.0-0 but 2.48.1.-1~ubuntu16.04.1 is installed (>=2.540.0 is needed) Pls ... help?
the-dumb1 135 Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 Alright, I read it a little closer. Turns out that I'm actually on 16.04 instead of 16.10. I did in fact attempt to move to the 16.10 repo. Following the on-screen prompts, I wound up having to remove my install of Emby, and then after pointing to the correct repo, I re-installed Emby and was back up and running. Just a little PEBKAC here, though it'd be nice to know why the 15.0x repo disappeared.
Luke 42077 Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 We had an issue with the 15.10 repo so we've had to pull it for now, thanks.

the-dumb1 135 Posted November 27, 2016 Author Posted November 27, 2016 15.10 is end of life. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases That's nice but not why the repo disappeared. https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home%3Aemby&package=emby-server That includes installation instructions for Emby going all the way back to 12.04 which is also end-of-life ... so again, a distro being end-of-life has nothing to do with it. Fact is that the repo for 15.whatever was removed without any notice that I could find. It just went 404 one day.
hurricanehrndz 149 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 12.04 is officially supported until April 2017. I had to remove and recreate a bunch of the repos because they became corrupted. They would not take the new mono updates and so it was creating a bunch of issues on each release. Unfortunately the 15.04 and 15.10 were some of the repos that had become corrupted. You're a completely right about notice. I will ensure major changes like this in the future are announced through the appropriate channels. Thank you for your feedback. From now on we will maintain distro support for as long as distro is officially supported plus an additional three months. It is our hope this gives our users enough time to transition.
