Oxide 139 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Not sure if this would be possible to do but it would be awesome if the Emby admins were able to force a database reset on the Kodi clients 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) How would you move pass the prompts? I'll get you started, however you'd need to do follow up queries to move the selection left or right depending on the prompt: You'll need to use JSON rpc. The command will be { "jsonrpc": "2.0", "method": "Addons.ExecuteAddon", "params": { "wait": false, "addonid": "plugin.video.emby", "params": { "mode": "reset" } }, "id": 2 } Edited November 8, 2016 by Angelblue05 1
Oxide 139 Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 Sorry I'm no programmer, I just have these wild ideas Aren't the prompts generated from the Emby plugin? If so can't they be bypassed? And on the Server side have the options like you would have in the client?
Oxide 139 Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 I have a few users that are not in my household, and when they have issues (normally caused when the Emby server does a scan when the data server is offline and makes all the media as offline) it would be far easier to click a few buttons on the server than to move my lazy ass over to their HTPC's and manually do the reset. Like I said it's just a suggestion 1
Oxide 139 Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 I made a request here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/35719-scan-media-library-option-for-offline-files/ Not sure if the devs have considered it or not?
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) We should fix the issues, reset db is a last resort and should not be used normally. What is there to fix? Is offline content, virtual content? Edited November 9, 2016 by Angelblue05
mastrmind11 722 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 I posted about this a few weeks ago too. My NAS shut down due to power failure, and when Emby's scheduled library scan ran it marked my entire library as removed since the mounts were missing, which then got pushed to all my Kodi clients. 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Are they truly not returned in the api or is it because when they are marked as offline, they become virtual items. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 I'll ask Luke what offline items are classified as. If the server marks offline as virtual then that's a big flaw in my view. They should still be marked as physicial items, with a separate value indicating they are offline, not virtual. To be determined.
Oxide 139 Posted November 10, 2016 Author Posted November 10, 2016 Just my 2 cents worth, if there was an option in the Emby server back-end to skip library scans if the source folders were unavailable it would solve this issue and I'm sure other issues. Maybe @ & @@Angelblue05 could raise this issue with @@Luke as there has been no response from the devs
Luke 42077 Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 It sounds like the content may have been removed by the Emby library scan and that is the underlying issue, so we'll need to look at that. 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Offline is returned by default, It's not the same behavior as Virtual content apparently.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) I moved your post to the proper thread. Ok, can you please add it. thanks. We use FileSystem, but there's Offline, Virtual and Remote https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/blob/1642b7316309c703e47094ef31b2b98be649103e/MediaBrowser.Model/Entities/LocationType.cs Edited November 10, 2016 by Angelblue05 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Hopefully it works... But there's still a chance this is a problem server side and the server is somehow sending remove events for all the offline content. 1
Oxide 139 Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 Thank you @null_pointer & @Angelblue05 for looking into this, you guys are absolutely fantastic, that's what I love about the Emby community everyone is so supportive. So hopefully @@Luke can do some magic and add an option to skip scanning if the source directories are offline 2
