Malk100 0 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I have a Windows PC with both wired and wireless connections. xxx.xxx.x.64 xxx.xxx.x.67 I would like to use wired all the time and if I do, EMBY works perfectly (thanks guys). Unfortunately, I am using TPLink boxes to connect across the mains. Most of the time this works but occasionally the link drops and switches over to my wireless. EMBY on my Samsung TV connects to IP 64 for the wired network but when I am using wireless it no longer works because the IP address is then 67. When I start EMBY on the Samsung TV, I would ideally like to set it up so I can select 64 or 67 depending on what the server IP address. Can anyone offer advice please? What I do not want to do is go through the installation again to set it up for 67 as it takes too long. Thanks
ebr 16169 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 What app are you using on your TV? If it is Theater, it should locate it automatically.
Malk100 0 Posted November 8, 2016 Author Posted November 8, 2016 It is whatever the default is on the Samsung TV. It is the EMBY client that is the issue, not the media player
Luke 42077 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Hi, have you tried manually entering the Emby server address to connect to?
Malk100 0 Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 When I start the EMBY client, I get the initial screen with the room view and a start arrow in the middle. I click and then get a screen that shows my 'sort of' log on view for my PC. It looks like a head and shoulders with my log on name under it. There are a couple of options under this but all I can do is click and it then goes on to view the files. I was hoping that the head and shoulders screen would allow me to connect to a different IP but I think it is there ONLY if there are multiple EMBY Servers. I only have one but with 2 possible IP addresses. Either I need to set up my PC with 2 EMBY serves and I do not know how to do this, or find a way to enter an IP address on the TV when this occurs.
moviefan 187 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Just block traffic to/from the Emby server port on the Wireless connection via Windows firewall. Then remote clients will only have one way of seeing it.
Luke 42077 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Or just enter the IP address manually from the app you're connecting with
