RanmaCanada 495 Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 So are we supposed to be using a 32 or 64 bit version of ffmpeg? I ask because I have tried both static versions, and my roku users still can not watch anything because ffmpeg refuses to render anything. Their apps are up to date, and all that happens is they sit on "recieving data" nothing else. They are trying to access hevc 10 bit files which obviously need to be transcoded to h264. I have an e5-2670 with 24 gigs of ram, so it's not a problem for my beast of a machine to handle this, but for some reason, ffmpeg is just throwing up completely. These files work perfectly fine, and were working perfectly fine until recently. I have tried using the old version of ffmpeg that I was using, but it also fails miserably. My system is 100% stable, so I know it is not my cpu/ram causing this issue. Can anyone recommend me a stable build that works? 3.1.4 doesn't work, latest build from 10/30 doesn't work, please. Windows 10 pro 64bit is my OS. ffmpeg-sub-extract-18f33579-f89f-4284-9f8b-12775992ea87.zip
Luke 42079 Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 This log is only a subtitle extraction. What is it intended to portray?
RanmaCanada 495 Posted November 4, 2016 Author Posted November 4, 2016 Sorry Luke, I must have zipped the wrong log. Here are several logs. I had the user try several files. Some would start and then crash, some would not start at all. I've also included the server log file. Maybe it's because I don't have an up to date version of libx264 in the ffmpeg folder?? logs.zip server-63613728000.zip
RanmaCanada 495 Posted November 4, 2016 Author Posted November 4, 2016 Luke I was able to fix it by pointing to the ffmpeg build that is in C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\ffmpeg. At least I think I fixed it. I can now play stuff that needs to be transcoded through web browser, which I couldn't before. I will have my roku users try again tonight and update you.
e123enitan 275 Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 @@RanmaCanada, Apology, on a separate note, since you're based in Canada as I guess, what system are U using for Live Tv? I am curious to know if U have one set up, can I PM U if that is ok with you, I could use some assistance. Cheers!
RanmaCanada 495 Posted November 5, 2016 Author Posted November 5, 2016 I don't have anything setup for live tv as I don't have a cable or satellite sub. The area I live in only has 2 channels OTA, so I can't even do that if I wanted haha.
Luke 42079 Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 The logs didn't really indicate any obvious failures. Glad you've improved the situation.
RanmaCanada 495 Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 Yes it's frustrating when the logs say things are working, when they are in fact not. I am still having issues with items that are x264 hi10p, but I am in the process of converting those all the HEVC main 10. I really need to get a dual or quad processor server for that task haha.
