Emby Theater wont play a file

Not sure whats happening but Emby Theater fails to play this file. It plays fine when transcoded to web and plays fine in VLC. When i try to play it in ET it loads but stay at 00:00 for a few mins then it will start playing it extremely slowly like it in slow mo.

I've had a few different files that won't play. Different types, for what I determine as different reasons. And only in the last week. As with yours, they play in everything else.

 

Luke, what do you need from us? Some of these files are very large. You want us to try and slice off a section and share them?

how long of a sample do you need? i should be able to sort one.

 

i have since re muxed the file removing the extra audio and sub titles and it still has the same issue

I don't think so. They play slowly. In your case, there were no filters/codecs and so nothing would/could play.

Have you tried changing your video settings? Used EVR+, hardware acceleration DXVA2copyback, etc?

That is a good point. I think you should change the acceleration to match the capacity of your video card (which is?), use madVR and Frame Rate Switching

I think I'm having the same issue with the legacy version.  Only with madvr and only in full screen.  When in windowed it works fine.  As soon as I hit full screen, it freezes.  EVR and EVR+ work fine, but pictures is horrible comparatively.  Does this help? I have a Radeon 7800 series with Driver Packaging Version 16.40.2311-160916a-307259E.  It has recently started updating on its own.  Not sure if related.

Well, if you're using legacy, you can use filters external to the app. You can configure it pretty much anyway you want. But you can't really make a comparison between legacy and the present Theater. Legacy is using old filters

Thanks luke, i'll check it out.  Weirdly enough I just logged in becuase i was about to publish my V2 of the photo screensaver i made (same gist as before, just works/looks a bit nicer)...  I was also considering trying to make a public version of my "detail list" theme I made.  I've been using it for the last year or so so it's relatively stable, however it's a bit out dated as far as the latest stuff goes and when I initially made it i had to change some of the emby.web components to support what i wanted.. I could probably re-write to be more self-contained if anyone was interested in it though...  Other than the drill down into the lists, the main page is pretty similiar to the default view, and I haven't touched the live TV stuff at all.
