Fanatic_Joker 5 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) Hi there, I got 3 Raspberry in my house, in the past I simply made a backup of the hole sd card and restored it (or cloned it) than changed the user and everything was fine. Is there an easier way ? (maybe copy just the MyMoviesXX.db - at same version level)... also I got a pretty fast windows client and want to move the emby client database to the raspberry all just cause the initial sync just takes about 3 hours on my zotac nano and on a raspberry it takes about a night... I hope there is an easy way... with kind regards Joker Edited October 31, 2016 by Fanatic_Joker 1

Fanatic_Joker 5 Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 Okay... further ... I can't chance the embedded Emby-User in the addon ... I tried to get in the emby addon settings, changed the user -> reboot -> "Welcome Administrator" I tried to delete the data.txt and settings.xml to force the emby addon to the startup wizard, what it does... but then starts a whole new sync I saw the usernames in the data.txt and settings.xml but also with some UserIDs ... I thought it isn't really smart to change just the names... any Idea to change the Emby User in the addon after the sync ? PS: Both users got the same Librarys with kind regards Joker
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 It's not possible because Emby works on user base meaning everything added to Kodi links back to that Emby user. Use a fast device, setup using the appropriate Emby user and use that backup instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fanatic_Joker 5 Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 Got it working 1. Fresh LibreElec 2. Installed emby video addon via repository - cancel "Select Server/User" 3. Copy MyVideo and emby.db 4. Copy addon_data 5. configure emby addon - hit Defaults 6. reboot 7. select new User... tadaaa Now I'm struggling with the watched flags... which are from the Administrator account and not the NewUser... EDIT: started emby addon, Configure the Library (hit "c") and click "Mark as unwatched" ... I'll keep you updated
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) I'm sorry I cannot help you with this. I highly disagree with what you are doing as you are breaking a lot of things with your approach. Everything in the Kodi and Emby database Kodi side links back to a specific Emby user. Even if the library is the same, everything is associated/refers to that specific Emby user (such as playstates). You will be better off long term, doing a fresh install with the correct Emby user. Fanatic_Joker 5 Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 I agree with you ... after that it takes a big time to get the films "unwatched" ... so no big time saver... maybe it's really the easiest way you advised... 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) Look at it this way. You only really have to sync each emby user once. Then, you can backup each Emby user profile and restore them to all your other devices (granted, the device using the same Kodi version) Pick a fast device, do everything on it, then restore backups to your low-powered devices.
