Problem Getting Started

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to install Emby on a PC running Windows 7 Professional.

In the setup wizard, Emby remains on the "select a language" page forever without moving on to the next step.  I've attempted the download and setup process several times and always get the same result.  So I can't move on to the point of setting up my user account.

Hi, sorry to hear about this. Do you have another browser you can try? It might be an issue specific to Pale Moon. Thanks !

Thanks for your response.

I'm downloading Internet Explorer 11 to try that fix.

If you are downloading a browser I would recommend Chrome.

It's apparently an issue involving the Pale Moon browser.

Even when I sign out of it, install Chrome as my default and download Emby with Chrome, the setup page shows Pale Moon and the problem persists.  No luck with Firefox, either.

I can't devote any more time to the issue right now, but I do want to pursue it because I'm curious.

Thanks for reporting back.

As a workaround you can also download the latest emby.widows.zip from the Github https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/releases and just skip the whole installation routine.

Edit: Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to the screenshot and was thinking of something different. My fault.

Well no, you can't skip the web based setup wizard that is pictured in the first post. You can only skip the parts that come before that.
