Untoten 306 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 I loved this theme last year, but I cannot get it to show up this year on the web client, it already started working on the Amazon Fire app automatically. I tried appending ?=themeholloween or whatever the link was, doesn't work. I tried clearing my cache, rebooting the server, removing all my branding, it still won't show up.Any ideas?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 What server version? I updated and it was there. The old way no longer works "?=themehalloween" because everything has been rewritten.
Luke 42083 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 It's disabled for mobile browsers so maybe that is why.
SikSlayer 249 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 It's disabled for mobile browsers so maybe that is why. I don't have it on Chrome Version 56.0.2902.0 dev (64-bit) Windows either, but I did have it via the Smart Player app.
SikSlayer 249 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 It also works in Firefox 49.0.2 Windows fine as well. Ditto the most recent Edge. It's only the version of Chrome I mentioned.
jordy 284 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) Hi, in the Android app (2.8.14), Halloween theme cannot be disabled. choosing "No" when asked if you want it to continue does nothing the first time, pressing it a second time results in the app window closing (still running but in background). When bringing it back to the front or restarting the app, the Halloween theme is still running... Current dev server stops it just fine. thanks. PS. looked for the log but couldn't find it? Luke 42083 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Update to the latest version of Emby Server.
Heckler 147 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 It kinda worked... but gets annoying really quickly... and when you tell it you don't want to keep it... it stays anyway but does at least stop playing the annoying music. How about letting people choose if they want it rather than forcing them to choose that they don't.?

Untoten 306 Posted October 31, 2016 Author Posted October 31, 2016 That fixed it. The issue was not 'being outdated' The issue is I run emby server as a windows service under 'embyservice' user. I am logged in as the server local admin when I do updates. When I run an update for some terrible reason emby likes to start up automatically every time. So after an update emby starts itself as an application under the administrator account, I shut it down, and start it as a service under the 'embyservice' user. I'm guessing the initial boot after an update causes some files to be created under the administrator user, which is causing inconsistent windows permission.THis is a huge issue, Emby should not be self-starting itself as a local application after updates when I clearly have it configured as a service. Can we please fix this? I'm not sure why it would even be logical to do this without asking the user if they want it.
