The name might not be 100% accurate but the idea is this. Having a field where we can specify a video that will play before a feature.

Examples of use would be an unrelated short film that plays before a pixar feature film or a video of "introduction by the director" that exists on some dvds.

That would obviously be a manual exercise but interesting nontheless for those interested in recreating the original theatrical experience on some movies.

Cinema mode is an awesome feature but it's not quite what i meant..

Basically i want to be able to specify a video to play before another...

Example. In my apocalypse now entry i have an intro by the director and i want it to play before the main feature... you can't do that with cinema mode i think?

I know i can always remux the files or something but simply linking them would be nice and easy too

You can get creative to do this.

Rename the movie.. movie-name-cd2.mp4. The main part to do is add the -cd2 to the filename of the movie. Now the video you want played before it, movie-name-cd1.mkv. The important part here is name it the exact same as the movie, making sure it has -cd1 at the end.

Your mileage may vary, but most clients/apps support multi-part video.

That's true i hadn't thought of that avenue... ill give it a try

No, I would not do that because you will find yourself disappointed with multi-file videos.

I would use the cinema mode by tags feature which will allow you to associate individually if you want. You can learn more about this on our wiki:

or use a playlist - for the movie and extras and set the order you want them to play in

I will definitely try the tags option... it seems most like what i was after initially.

Thanks people!
