Joshua B 1 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 How should I name and store custom images in my folders for certain TV series that Media Browser doesn't update very well? Thanks, Josh
Joshua B 1 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Sure. WWE Raw WWE Smackdown TNA Impact Wrestling
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) See this guide for artwork conventions: http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/3385-a-learners-guide-to-understanding-artwork-in-media-browser/. If you use the uploaded in the Metadata Editor portion of the web client, it will name them appropriately. You just assign your images to the proper type. Edited January 20, 2014 by Wayne Luke
Solution Luke 42077 Posted January 21, 2014 Solution Posted January 21, 2014 You might want to classify those as home videos. They would basically have an identical structure as movies except there would not be any internet metadata. But all of the same image file names would apply. You can either review the guide Wayne posted, or another easy way it to use the web interface to add images. Then once you've done that you can go look at the files it created as an example, then do the rest by hand if it's faster that way. 1
Joshua B 1 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Thanks Wayne, for pointing me to a link where I can get a handle on the different image types that MB uses. Thanks Luke. I've actually never used the web interface for anything. Haven't needed to access my content on any other machine outside of my HTPC. But now with live TV, it looks like I'll need to use the web interface to try it out. :-) 1
Joshua B 1 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 I used the web interface to add my images. I didn't know if the images I added would disappear at some point if MB tried to go out and update them on its own. Anyway, thanks again for your help.

If an image exists, MB will NEVER overwrite that file unless you either delete it first or go in and use the image tool to browse and download a replacement.

If you turn on MovieDB updates, I think we may refresh the covers periodically from them. At least it used to do this. That may have been taken out at this point. I used to like getting fresh updated covers every so often.
