Emby Server Upgrade Manually?

So just noticed that my emby server running on Windows is saying the following:

 

 

 

Version 3.0.8200.0

A new version of Emby Server is available!

Version 3.0.8300 is now available for download.

Please shutdown the server and update manually.

 

 

 

Just curious if this is supposed to happen and why the auto install and restart isn't an option this time.  

 

I didn't see an announcement for 8300.

Hi, welcome. Are you running using the windows service? that might be why.

So I updated it manually with no issues.  What is interesting is that it was running as Emby service.   Nothing in the Status area by the clock.  After the update... I have the emby icon by the clock.  

 

Emby Server in services is stopped but things appear to be working.

Yea the service and the tray icon are two ways of running emby server, you just have to choose which one you prefer.
