Vishna 0 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Please help me by a small problem :-) Iuse the Emby Mediaserver since one year. I love this Server. Now i need a new bigger hd, the old one are totally full. My files I copied to the new disk. I use the same folder structure. How can change the library to the new drive at Emby without a new scan to have to make With about 30k files that take at least a week and after the scan several weeks manual corrections, because the files are not in englich. With Plex I have done it before. There you need in the db at 3 tables to change the path and everything is ready, no new scan. Please dont tell me a new scan is neccessary. It must work without that. thx Vishna
overClocked! 65 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 If you are replacing the drives with larger ones, just set the volume drive letter to the same as the old drive and make sure your network shares have exactly the same names as they were in the old drives before. If you do that, Emby will not see a change at all. Also, if you are saving your metadata in the media folders, you won't have to be doing any manual corrections, either. Vishna 0 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 Thx for reply, this solution i have read already but this doesnt work for me. i have a additional hd, where i put the half of my media files on. I split movie from tv series. What i need is the correct file and db table. The xml file for the library i found. The table in the db also. But when i change the drive path then the scan cancel with the msg that the db are broken. There must be some changes more neccessary. thx Vishna
Happy2Play 9784 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Because you are not allowing the library scan to rewrite/correct the library.db with where the media has moved to.
Luke 42085 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 yea we haven't really documented the process for a quick change that won't require a rescan. We (developers) will have to go through it and get it streamlined before you will be able to do that.
