I have a smallish issue with the way tracks are being automatically named...

Most if my audio tracks are named like

English - 5.1

Français - 5.1

Commentary by whoever

In emby my tracks get renamed as

English - 5.1

Fre Français - 5.1

Eng Commentary by whoever

Notice the first track was not renamed, i guess because it's the same letters?

My languages are set correctly. Is there a solution or shall i spend countless hours renaming tracks for an acceptable workaround??

Thanks!

I love emby nonetheless !

If the language is not contained in the title then we prepend it to the beginning in order to help ensure that it will be a useful title, although it needs to get smarter about fre/francais

So i should wait until it gets smarter then?

Also can you maybe make an exception to "dont do anything" when the word commentary is in there...? Or just, i guess, some way to control this behavior like leaving the language track to undetermined if you don't want it to add eng...

Thanks!

Yes we can skip doing that when the language is undetermined

That would be great! How will i know its in effect to start fixing my files? In a server release fixes and features list i guess?

Even in a future fix you will have to refresh you libraries to fix existing metadata, as a fix will only fix future metadata.

This request applies to subtitles but the requester wants the opposite effect as you "add language", so who should Emby target with a change like this?

Any progress on making the making the fre/Français track naming smarter ?

It will be improved for an upcoming release of Emby Server. Thanks !
