A Couple of Feature Suggestions

First off, this is an EXCELLENT system.  Once I get everything squared away with the servers and media moved I will be getting a Premier subscription.

 

That being said, since I am new these features may be here already and I just haven't found them yet.  Here goes:

 

1. The ability to link different media types together. For example, a movie linked to its soundtrack.

 

2. The ability to manage Metadata for People on the Metadata Manager.  Call me crazy, but I like to edit the images and other info on the stars occasionally.

 

3. The ability to share Metadata with other Emby users.  Some users may have a more informative record than some of the databases that the data is being pulled from and other might be able to benefit from that data.  This feature would probably require a central server and be a bit more complicated than the previous two.

 

Anyhow, keep up the good work.

Hi

 

1. check out the plugins - Movie theme songs and tv theme songs etc - may not be exactly what you mean though

2. right click on people image - edit images/info

 

3. nice idea - i guess you need a Content management system (cms) that co-ordinates the large numbers of slight variations for each tvdb/imdb id ref and presented a summary for each series/movie and by language - could be automated - and just let the user download and update their metadata manually - not automatic as the amount of support calls that would generate could be huge -

These are community driven websites where users contribute the content and Emby downloads from that. It sounds like the only difference between that and what you're asking is that they aren't Emby-managed. Does that sound right?

I think what they're asking for is something I was looking for a long time ago. Have emby link a movie's details to it's soundtrack if you have it. Not sure how you'd have emby be aware of the relationship tho

I could have sworn that #1 is already implemented, or was a while back ... wasn't automatic linking, but you can/could link them. Can't for the life of me remember how tho!

a bit like music videos where you can manually add artist and album info - would be nice if there was a plugin/way to get emby to try and match them - say a naming convention?

they used to have a feature for this but it was removed on the basis that it was coming back with more features, that was 2 years ago :-(

You are talking about metadata, I believe the OP is talking about actual media ,ie a movie details page having a link to the movie sound track if you have it and linking tvshows to movies such as the inbetweeners

 No you are assuming i was talking about editing the files 

 

but as i said music and music video metadata - go check out the metadata manager for music videos - if you had a similar option for movies you could link a song etc to a movie or the whole album
