Problem editing "Place of birth" field of a person

I am not able to edit the "Place of birth" field of a person, when I do an edit, it is not written do the xml nor it is being displayed on the person's profile. I have this problem on the latest official release (3.0.8300) and also on the dev release (3.1.6137.23501).
