aspdend 177 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I noticed last night that my computer was clogged with a lot of temporary files - they are related to videos and have the extension .mbtree - not aware of this extension - is this related to Emby at all?
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 appears to be related to encoding video files - mainly dvd's - have you ripped any in the recent past
aspdend 177 Posted October 19, 2016 Author Posted October 19, 2016 yeah - that's what I googled as well - yes I have been ripping some of my music videos, and I see some of these in the mbtree temp files, but there is something like 70Gb of .mbtree files in there (masses of files on my 250Gb SDD) and I was wondering if it was related to emby production of thumbnails for video files...
aspdend 177 Posted October 19, 2016 Author Posted October 19, 2016 I use a combination of makemkv and handbrake and video-to-video (to split files)
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 where are these files being saved as i use the first two as well as mkvmerge to chop up files etc i can see if i have any - my suspicion is its not emby
aspdend 177 Posted October 19, 2016 Author Posted October 19, 2016 I will have to check when I am back home - but form memory it is user/appdata/local/somewhere...will post a proper path later
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 user/appdata/local/temp has lots of rubbish but no mbtree files possibly its the v2v thats created them?
aspdend 177 Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Definitely in the following location: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp maybe it is v2v causing it - just seemed strange they were called mbtree...
