Sludge Vohaul 23 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Hi, I am sorry this has been discussed several times, but I am obviously too stupid, to get it working... I cannot (i.e. I do not want) let Emby store the generated movie nfo files in the movie folders as the whole filesystem is readonly for Emby. How do I configure the server to store it somewhere else? Setting the Library->Advanced->"Metadata path" and deselecting Metadata->Settings->"Save artwork and metadata into media folders" does not store the nfo files in the configured metadata path, only People and stuff. I am running Emby 3.0.7300.0. thanks, sv
Happy2Play 9784 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I could be wrong but if metadata is not stored with media there is no nfo actually written, it is just written to the database. At least that has been my experience so far with testing.

ebr 16195 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 This is correct. Even if they set a custom metadata path?
Sludge Vohaul 23 Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 yep, (at least here with 3.0.7x) when your movie folders are not writeable, no nfo files are stored on disk, even when the custom metadata path is configured. And making the movie-folders-filesystem writeable (without changing any emby settings) will store them.
