I use it as back end database for multiple Kodis, on an ipad app and via the Chrome browser. It was working nicely until I upgraded to Version 3.0.8100.0. Now what happens it is runs fine for several house and then I cannot contact the server on the web interface, ipad app or by Kodi. Netstat -lptn shows the relevant ports open (I use the default ones). If I restart the emby-server status it works again. cruiserRtd 0 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 I have the same issue on Raspbian, latest build. Also, whenever a client synchs (such ad Kodi) the server locks up and the synch fails. This has been happening on all builds of Enby I've tried - and since I'm new to this, that has only been the last 4 releases or so. I also had to add caching to my USB drive just to get Emby to scan my library. Without cache, it would start scanning, then lock up too. I did have empty folders in my music, which I have now deleted, but it took the cache to finally run the scan.

As a test, please try removing all plugins from the server and see if this resolves the lockups. Thanks !
johnvick 1 Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 (edited) Hi again, The same problem has started up again exactly as outlined in the first post in this thread. service emby-server status shows it is running but it can't be contacted and logging has stopped. johnvick 1 Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 This thread has died but I have found a solution. I think the problem was the Emby was set to do real time monitoring and the media files were stored on a separate NAS device that was not on 24/7 as was the XU4 that Emby runs on. After disabling real time monitoring the problem went away.
