Hello,

Since last update, Live TV direct stream is broken from the web app: When trying to play a channel, the screen is black, there is some very chopped bit of sound, the progress bar advance a little and jumb back, then advance a little again before jumping back again,...

It only happen with direct stream. Direct play or transcoding is ok. Also, direct stream is ok in ET: the problem happens in the web app.

I tried with both Firefox and Chrome browsers on 3 different computers (2 with Windows 7 and one with Windows 10)

Here is the logs...

Weird...  I just tried again to play Live TV from 3 different computers (2 with Win7 and 1 with Win10) with both FireFox and Chrome and with all I have the problem. It's only with Emby dashboard says it's "Direct Stream". All other modes are ok.

I don't know if the same happen when using ET or when playing a video (not Live TV): I have a hard time to come up with a set-up that result in "Direct Stream" and not transcode or "Direct Play".

On a side note, my HDHR is one a private IP address. I tried to use my smartphone (wifi disable so connected only to 4G) to play Live TV. Emby dashboard reported that it was "Direct Play". I believed that it mean that the client (my smartphone) is accessing directly the HDHR, bypassing Emby server. How is that possible (I am not using 1:1 NAT)? The HDHR report that the tuner is used by the IP address of the Emby Server... So should it it report "Direct Stream"?

From what Ebr wrote:

"Direct play - the app hands a file system path to a player and it directly accesses that file using normal network protocols and plays it.  The Emby server is not involved."

"Direct stream - the app hands an url to the player that points to your Emby server and the server feeds the file from the file system to the player directly (without modification) via http."
